Watercolour by Arthur Lamb

The Lancaster & District Art Society was established in 1946.

The Society aims to promote the practice of drawing and painting in all mediums and welcomes members with specialist skills, for example sculpture, wood carving, printing, encaustic work and silk painting.

The Society is managed by its members; we have nine officers and eight committee members. We meet on a regular basis and welcome new ideas from our society members. The programme of activities is designed to encourage, inspire and develop member's interests and skills.

The watercolour on the right is by a well respected past member of our society, Arthur Lamb.

The Society is open to all aged 18 and over.

We welcome beginners and professional artists, as well as non painters with an interest in art.

The annual subscription is £25
